One bounded window. Read backward, planned forward.

The PeriodReview™ is the rung of the Review family that operates on a bounded window of your operation. You bring the window — one issue, one period, one quarter, one half-year, or one full year — and I read it against the framework. What the window produced. What upstream mechanism produced it. What the next window has to do differently.

Most operators run the same window twelve or thirteen times a year and call it management. The PeriodReview™ treats each window as a unit of read. What the last one told you. What the next one has to do differently.

The window you pick is the diagnostic surface. The smaller the window, the tighter the read on one thing. The larger the window, the broader the read on compounding. Same framework. Same voice. Same deliverable structure. Five options.

Who

You are running a functional operation and you want to stop running it on instinct. You have windows that outperform and windows that underperform and you cannot name why the difference. You know your numbers well enough to spot problems and not well enough to isolate causes. You want the framework applied to a bounded unit — of time or of question — so you can see the mechanism in play instead of the noise.

If you want the whole operation read at once, that is the OffsiteReview™. If you want the operation read from inside the building, that is the OnsiteReview™. If you have not run the Assessment yet, start there.

Pick Your Window

The PeriodReview™ ships in five tiers. You pick the window that fits what you can bring and what you need read.

Tier Window Working Session Investment
The Issue Read One specific issue ~1 hour $850
The Period Read One 28-day period ~1.5 hours $3,500
The Quarter Read One quarter (3 periods) ~3 hours $9,000
The Half-Year Read Six periods ~6 hours $15,000
The Annual Read One full year ~12 hours $25,000

Working session time is approximate. Each tier runs across one or multiple sessions, contextual to the diagnosis.

Every tier credits forward against a larger engagement. See Credit Forward for how the credit works, what it applies toward, and the terms.

Designed For Operator Ownership

Every offer on this site is designed against the same principle. Operator ownership of the operating surface, the discipline, the data, the framework, the Guest relationship, and the operation itself. The framework does not exist to make the operator dependent on the framework. The framework exists to be run by the operator.

The free assets are operator property. The books, the KB Dictionary, the blog, and hacksterism.com are free and stay free. They contain the framework itself — the load-bearing IP, the operating principles, the diagnostic tests, the class-play prosecution. The operator who reads them and runs them owns the discipline. Owning the discipline is the point.

Commercial offers exist for framework execution against specific operations. Coaching, The PeriodReview™, The OnsiteReview™, The OffsiteReview™, The One-On-One™, The Diagnostic™, and Credit Forward all exist for the same reason. To run the framework against the operator’s specific operation on defined scope with a defined exit. Every engagement transfers the discipline. Every engagement leaves the operator more capable of running the framework independently than they were when the engagement started.

No subscription capture, no dependency escalation, no data extraction, no framework arbitrage. Every commercial offer has a defined start, a defined scope, and a defined end. The operator can exit any engagement at the end of its defined period without losing continuity of the operation. The operator’s Guest data, cast data, financial data, and operational data remain the operator’s. The framework taught during the engagement remains the operator’s to run afterward. Refer back to the free KB and books to keep running the framework without further paid engagement.

The commercial line’s purpose is to accelerate the operator’s independence, not to secure the operator’s dependency. Every engagement is designed to graduate the operator out of paid engagement. The operator who runs the framework well needs fewer engagements over time, not more. That is the design.

The class runs [Edison Trust Arbitrage] and [Stacked Arbitrage] against restaurant operators across sixteen surfaces. This framework refuses to run it against the operator’s relationship to their own operation. Free is free. Paid is defined-scope. Ownership is the operator’s road. Every offer on this site is built for that road.

The Five Reads

The Issue Read

You have one thing keeping you up at night and you want a professional read on it before you spend money solving the wrong problem. You can name the issue. You want the framework applied to it directly.

One 60-minute working session. One issue. The Fundamental it lives under, the upstream mechanism producing it, the named next move.

The Period Read

You want the last closed 28-day period read against the framework, and the next period planned against what the read revealed. Retrospective plus forward plan in one document. This is the original PeriodReview™ scope.

Approximately 1.5 hours of working session. The period’s P&L, mix, labor, and schedule read against the framework. Upstream mechanisms named. Next period planned.

The Quarter Read

You want three periods worth of compounding read at once. Within-quarter patterns. Period-to-period drift. What compounded. What didn’t. Forward plan for the next quarter.

Approximately three hours of working session across one or multiple sittings, contextual to the diagnosis. Quarter-scoped submission spec. Retrospective read plus forward plan for the next quarter.

The Half-Year Read

You want six periods worth of read at once. Seasonal patterns. Half-year strategic cycles. Budget-cycle alignment. Forward plan for the next half.

Approximately six hours of working session across multiple sittings, contextual. Half-year submission spec. Retrospective plus forward plan.

The Annual Read

You want the full year read as a single compounding arc. What compounded across twelve periods. What didn’t. Where the operation was at the start of the year. Where it is now. What the year-over-year read reveals that the period-over-period reads missed. Strategic frame for the next annual cycle.

Approximately twelve hours of working session across multiple sittings, contextual. Full-year submission spec. Annual retrospective plus strategic forward frame for the next year.

How The PeriodReview™ Works

The PeriodReview™ runs the framework applied to your window. Not a diagnostic template. Not a checklist. Not a script. Your specific window, read against the five Fundamentals, with the upstream mechanism named and the next move locked.

You bring the window and the write-up. The session reads it. You execute after. My job in the session is to name what the read shows. Your job before the session is to name what you are bringing in writing. Your job after the session is the work.

Send

Within 3 business days of purchase, you send a written statement of what you are bringing.

For The Issue Read: a one-page statement of the issue — what you are seeing, what you think it means, what you have tried, why those attempts did not produce what you expected, and the specific question you want answered in the hour. Plus any single artifact that would clarify the issue.

For The Period Read through The Annual Read: a written statement of what the window contains, what you think it shows, and the specific question or set of questions you want answered. Plus the data the window requires — P&L, mix, labor, schedule, whatever the window’s read will draw from. The data spec scales with the window.

The write-up is not optional at any tier. If you cannot name what you are bringing in writing before we meet, the session becomes orientation instead of work. That is not what this rung is for.

The operator who names what they are bringing in writing before the session is designing the read. The operator who wants to “hop on a call and see what happens” is deciding by default. The write-up requirement is the design gate. Every tier has one.

Happens

We meet on Zoom. I have read your write-up and your data before we start. I walk you through what the read shows — the Fundamental in play, the upstream mechanism, the named next move. You push back where my read does not match what you are seeing on the ground. We resolve it in the session.

Session cadence is contextual. Some tiers run in one working session. Some run across multiple sessions with reads in between. The pacing follows the work.

You have 7 days from the last session for clarification questions on what we discussed. Email only. Your data is destroyed 30 days after the last session.

Get

Working session(s) with me on Zoom at the scope you selected. A written read of the window — what it produced, why it produced that, what the framework says about the mechanism in play. For every tier at The Period Read and above: a written plan for the next window — the specific moves, the sequencing, the leading indicators that will tell you the plan is working before the numbers confirm it.

The read is retrospective. The plan is forward. Both live in the same document because they are the same work — one produces the other.

For The Issue Read: the read produces the named Fundamental, upstream mechanism, and next move. The next move may be the whole engagement, or it may be the next rung of the ladder. The read tells you which.

Investment

Five tiers. Pick your window.

  • The Issue Read — $850
  • The Period Read — $3,500
  • The Quarter Read — $9,000
  • The Half-Year Read — $15,000
  • The Annual Read — $25,000

You are not paying for a template, a scorecard, or a script. You are paying for the framework applied to your window — cross-referenced against 44 years of operator experience and the framework I have spent two decades building. The rung you pick is the window you pick.

Credit Forward

Every PeriodReview™ tier credits forward against a larger engagement. The fee is not a sunk cost if you decide to go deeper — it becomes a first payment on whatever the diagnosis points to.

See Credit Forward for how the credit works across every rung of the ladder, what each tier applies toward, and the terms.

Not

Not a discovery call. Not a free consultation. Not financial, tax, or legal advice. Not accounting. Not a coaching engagement — that is Coaching. Not an on-site read — no property presence, no live shift observation. Not a whole-operation diagnostic — that is the OffsiteReview™. Not a report card. Not a substitute for reading the book, taking the Assessment, or doing the work.

The PeriodReview™ is a framework diagnosis applied to a bounded window, with the next window planned against what the read revealed.

Next

Every PeriodReview™ ends with a named next move. Which move depends on what the read reveals.

If it calls for a full read against the framework, the OffsiteReview™. If it calls for on-site observation, the OnsiteReview™. If it calls for sustained work, Coaching or Consulting. If it resolves in the session, the session is the whole engagement and you go execute. Credit forward carries into whichever move the diagnosis points to — see Credit Forward for how it applies at each rung.

I recommend the engagement the diagnosis requires. Not the engagement that sells the most.
